 Reminds me of a similar scene in Boy Meets World, where the dad was trying to dissuade his son from making an ill-advised decision. He bitterly says something like "You don't want to work at the same job for 15 years and realize you just...settled." Thankfully, the show resolved this a few episodes later, but at the time it hit me hard. I still laugh thinking about the end of that episode where at the end of the day, the dad storms in the house pissed off from work. Not too long after, Kevin does the exact same thing!

 They take any of this they'll be starting another civil war that they'll lose.
