 Here is some new medical research about diabetes type 1 by a company called Diamyd Medical. In the study they have found a subgroup with a specific gen called ”HLA DR3-DQ2 ” that is responding well with treatment. The estimating is that 50% that has diabetes type 1 have this gen and will respond well with treatment and without any side effects. This research is on newly diagnosed patients. But this is a phase II study and they will need to do a successful phase III to get the treatment to the market and that will probably take 3-5 years from now.
