He was probably encouraged to do it by either Steve Bannon, Michael Cohen, or Roger Stone in order to gather support by Republicans for a Presidential run. Because he does not care he just says what he thinks will make a good point in that moment . It does not have to be true or based in fact. It does not have to be consistent with anything he may have ever said even something he says in the same rally or event or interview. He picks from his go to topics when nothing on topic comes to mind. Hillary bad Obama bad BLM bad ect.
